SPOK 21 - Communications unit with synthetic voice output

SPOK21 is a mobile speech unit which provides the user with flexible communication at all times based on written language. It has a modern design and is simple to use. Its modular structure enables optimal adaptation to the individual requirements of the user.

SPOK21 has an outstanding voice output, which can be a male or female version, and which sounds like a natural human voice. But that's not all. There are many other features which make it easy for the user to handle the voice unit

There are two displays. On one display the user can read and correct his written text while entering it (in three different type-sizes). On the second display, the conversation partner can see what has been written.

Stored messages can be called up via six function keys beside the user display, by pressing just one key. Not only these six messages are available to the user, but a total of 72 'fast' messages. In order to maintain an overview, the messages are arranged into topics. For example, one topic is 'at home', another, 'at the doctors', 'shopping' etc.. If this is not enough, you can store other sentences via key abbreviations: a total of 432.

To ensure that the written text has reached its addressee, SPOK21 has two extra-powerful loudspeakers.

The keyboard on SPOK21 is splash-proof and soft running. In order to compensate any motory difficulties, varying delay times can be set. Optional finger guidance is also available. If the keyboard is too big or too small for you, you can connect any external PC keyboard.

If the SPOK21 is to be operated with one or two external keys / sensors, the standard keyboard is simply replaced with a scanning keyboard or a combi-module (which can operate as a scanning-module and a keyboard as well).

SPOK 21 has been developed by IGEL GmbH with support from the Bremer Innovationsagentur (BIA).
It is the first voice unit to be completely developed and produced in Germany.
